Countdown to College Football: Preparation Checklist

It is almost here. The Countdown has reached single digits. Thursday we will embark on another season of College Football. It is so exciting that we can easily look past the fact that the night’s schedule is highlighted with a Wake Forest vs Baylor and a NC State vs South Carolina showdown. In preparation for the big night, I have prepared a small checklist for all the Deputies out there.

1) First an foremost lock down a stable sportsbook or “agent”. I enjoy the peace of mind knowing my dog will never be taken as ransom and my limbs will never be broken by a website so I will always choose a online sportsbook over a bookie. The website “Sportsbook Review” has put together a list of recommended online sportsbooks which is very helpful. This will have you losing your money on Southwestern Texas State in no time.

2) Do something special with the wife or girlfriend now. Do not delay… I cannot stress this enough. Dinner, dancing, movie, shopping, yard saling with her parents… something. The better the outing, the more time you will buy. I figure a morning at mass followed by apple picking and a picnic in the park will get you a month of football freedom. Be creative. Good Luck with this one. It will make or break your football season.

3) Stock up the fridge, fill up the propane tank, confirm all takeout/delivery contacts. One minor slip up here could mean you missing half a quarter of football.

4) Do your research. Since a majority of you visiting this page are compulsive gamblers, take some time to look over some of the more obscure teams out there. Remember you are not gambling, but instead making a sports investment.

5) Don’t like what ESPN has to offer? Hate the local teams? Contact your cable/satellite provider today. For $100-200 you could be enjoying most game in the major conferences.

6) This step is more like a follow up to step 2. Start thinking of creative excuses as to why you are unable to participate in any fall outings your significant other may have lined up. Also, be sure to check out the schedule for this season. Try to slip in activities when you are able to.
